1. To cultivate positive values into the English curriculum.
1.1 Conduct a writing competition on positive values at long holiday.
1.2 ‘Love Radio’ will be conducted weekly at the class teacher period. Teachers have to choose one/some pupil(s) from each class to do the Love Radio. Pupils express on the topic of social intelligence, curiosity and hope.
1.3 An ‘Interactive Activity board’ on positive values will be introduced every two months to promote positive attitudes.
2. To cultivate pupils responsibility and ownership towards learning, nurture pupils to become self-regulated learners.
2.1 Pupils make use of ‘My Notebook’ to enhance their self-learning and notetaking skills. The skills include underlining or highlighting the key words in a text, using bullet points, symbols or abbreviations, a variety of graphic organisers etc. to organise the learning main points or notes to facilitate and internalize their self-studying process.
2.2 Under teachers’ guidance, KS2 pupils devise a project timetable which helps develop a clear sense of direction to support them in allocating time and duties and monitor the progress at different time intervals in doing project.
2.3 Pupils’ good work especially the preparatory or self-learn worksheets will be posted in the classroom or shared during lessons frequently to provide opportunities for them to learn from each other and recognize their effort.
2.4 Recognition stickers which designed by school will be awarded to pupils.

3. To enhance teachers’ professional development via professional development workshops and sharing sessions.
3.1 A professional development workshop ‘Integrated Self-directed learning in classroom teaching’ will be conducted for English teachers to enhance teachers’ teaching effectiveness.
3.2 Establish an inviting culture for teachers to share good teaching practices, e.g. preparatory work or collaborative teaching, and teaching and learning resources during the co-planning meetings and panel meetings.
4. To help pupils enhance their speaking skills and cultivate good reading habit.
4.1 Two NETs are recruited to teach reading and speaking in P.1, P.4, P.5 and P.6.
4.2 An English Speaking Corner will be set up during recess in the English room. Students are encouraged to use English to communicate with the NETs. (If social distancing is still in force, our NETs will go to their respective levels to mingle with students in classrooms at recess.)
4.3 One-minute Talk will be conducted during English lessons. Pupils will do show and tell on a selected topic to build up their confidence in speaking.
4.4 Bookworm Reading Club will be carried out to encourage pupils to read English books in their free time.
